Lecture: "Fondazione Studio Marangoni"

Since 1991 the Fondazione Studio Marangoni has provided a curricula of long term and tutorial courses in commercial and fine art photography plus houses an exhibition space and an extensive photography library. Martino Marangoni will show work produced by the school's three year program students from the past 19 years as well as work that both students and faculty have done in local commissioned assignments.

Workshop - Documentary photography - "Mapping the City"
Saturday and Sunday, May 29th and 30th, 10 a.m. & 6 p.m. at the FFF Office, Weißfrauenstr. 1, 60311 Frankfurt
The workshop is intended to give participants the chance to photo-document different districts of town and street scenes. Starting from the works of Martino Marangoni and other photographers from the 1970s to the present, an introduction to street photography will be given. Then the participants will go on a artistic metropolitan voyage of discovery and then discuss and assess the results together.
Martino Marangoni (*1950) lives and works in Florence, Italy where he is founder and president of Fondazione Studio Marangoni. He studied at Pratt Institute in New York and his photographs have been shown in numerous one-man and group exhibitions including Paesaggi Italiani, Sala delle Reali Poste, Uffizi Gallery, Florence 1998; Images from the Inner World, Rencontres d'Arles Photographie, Arles 1998; Terra d'Intorno, Blue Sky Gallery, Portland, Oregon 1999 and Ozymandias, Spaziofoto, Credito Artigiano, Firenze 2004 (with publication).
Some museums and institutions which have collected his works are the Calcografia Nazionale in Rome, La Maison EuropÈenne de la Photographie in Paris and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas. His book Terra dintorno, accompanied an exhibition curated by Roberta Valtorta, ART&, and was published 1997 in Udine.
