Lecture: “The Palermo Project”

A photographic portrait of the capital of Sicily, and one that elegantly avoids all the clichés associated with Southern Italy.

Gabrielle Strijewski studied Painting and Graphic Design at the University of Applied Sciences first in Hanover and then in Cologne. She then worked as a photographer. Her works have been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums, for example in Barcelona, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Palermo, Paris, and Tokyo. In 2008, “Das Palermo-Projekt” was published, which features among other things texts by Sicilian photographer Letizia Battaglia (Kehrer Verlag, Heidelberg). Gabrielle Strijewski lives and works in Frankfurt/Main.
