Er experimentierte mit Licht und Schatten, mit Spiegelung, Transparenz und Reflektion: Jaromír Funke (1896–1945) zählt zu den wichtigsten Vertretern der tschechischen und ebenso der internationalen Avantgarde-Fotografie. Das FFF zeigt das Werk des Visionärs erstmals in Deutschland.

Experiments with light and shadows, reflections and transparencies: Jaromír Funke (1896–1945) counts as one of the most important representatives of Czech and international Avant-garde photography. For the first time in Germany the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt presents the work of this visionary.

Zeitgleich mit Jaromír Funkes Fotografien präsentiert die Photography Players-Ausstellung »OPAVA SCHOOL. NahSichten« aktuelle zeitgenössische Tendenzen aus Tschechien. Im Fokus der Arbeiten von Fotografinnen und Fotografen des renommierten Instituts für kreative Fotografie an der Schlesischen Universität Opava stehen existenzielle Momente wie Privatsphäre, Beziehung, Innensichten.

At the same time as Jaromír Funke FFF presents a cabinet exhibition “OPAVA SCHOOL. Close-Up”. Part of our Photography Players series this show presents contemporary tendencies of a young generation. The photographs of students and graduates at the renowned Institute of Creative Photography at the Silesian University Opava, Czech Republic focus on existential moments like privacy, relationships, inner reflection.

FOTOGRAF DER AVANTGARDE« ist eine Zusammenarbeit des Fotografie Forum Frankfurt mit der Leica Gallery Prag, Institut für kreative Fotografie, Schlesische Universität Opava, und Jaromír Funkes Tochter, Miloslava Rupešová. Die Ausstellung wurde von Vladimír Birgus kuratiert. / “JAROMíR FUNKE. AVANT-GARDE PHOTOGRAPER” is a cooperation between Leica Gallery Prague, Institute of Creative Photography, Silesian University Opava and Funke’s daughter, Miloslava Rupešová. The exhibition was curated by Vladimír Birgus.
